9/11 - How Has It Changed Us?

Ten years later, much has changed in our world; Now for good. But after the global financial crisis, and a lot of debt ballooning, we feel safer? Maybe not in that way, but at least it is a more glorified version of insecurity.

For Americans, September 11 will always be engraved in the soul of national history that is neither necessary, nor was it at the time prepared for it. But nevertheless the shape of the nation and the ripples were felt indelibly across the globe.

It would be unfair to single out one event as responsible for so much change. But the September 11, 2001, the event is definitely the most of this millennium so far. The Boxing Day tsunami of 2004, and the most recent tsunami in Japan - and incomprehensible size of the environment - have not yet been, or will be catalysts for change as September 11, 2001, it was.

Remembering that we

Almost everyone who was old enough remembers where they were and what they did when the twin towers were hit and collapsed; Apart from the attacks on the Pentagon and the ill-fated United 93 flight, where passengers, fighting terrorists, has brought a brave aircraft down.

Strange as it seems, was nothing of the incident, only learning about the more than twelve hours later. But one need not be a witness to the facts to confirm response of the world. No doubt, this has changed the world overnight.

When we were in this history-changing day meant that he could watch it unfold before our eyes, live on CNN, C-SPAN, NBC, ABC, or any other network. No matter how scary the fact was, we, like Matt Damon, wanted more information.

Remembering that we are an important part of personal, family and national history. Defines or redefines us, assuring us our identity. We have done differently because of it. The reactions of others who were around us during those terrifying minutes and disbelieving hours following irradiation in our memories.

They shared an intimacy with us, and we're with them, which is a rare sight.

WHAT The 10th anniversary mean?

As the hands reach vertical, chiming the exact moment, we have unfathomable reason to reflect. Something so terrible has happened, and no matter how much we want to reminisce over those events (in honor of the fallen) can not do this to our satisfaction.

Depending on the distance from our event, or for people affected by it will draw a similar log file resembles the resentment for the loss.

The anniversary is another milestone for so many; Another down the path to reconciliation of acceptance. Time, however, will not dim the losses suffered on that day for time in memory.

For many, the date would approach, then come and go very quickly. Time marches ever forward, one bite at a time, even though some would prefer to stop - for thought - even for five minutes.
